We're really doing it. We're building a house! This will be a place to keep track of our progress and all the ups and downs that come with building a house.

Another week closer

We've got knobs on (some of) the cabinets

The electrician has been working this week installing lights, fans, and outlets.

Living room fan
 Office fan

 Master bathroom

Knobs on the media cabinet downstairs
Kierstyn's closet doors installed (I'm officially in looooove with her room.)
 More knobs :)
We had a pretty productive weekend ourselves.  Kelly built shelves for the boys' rooms.  Here is Trevin's.....I even got his painted.
And here is Kyler's....Not painted yet because we're actually going to stain his desk/shelves and need to get a little more of the "good wood" in order to finish.
Our other project this weekend was this planked wall in the downstairs bathroom.  We used leftover hardwood floor and nailed it to the wall. :)  It needs another coat of paint and then if I get brave I will sand it a little to make it look a bit rustic.  We will put 3 hooks up on the top board for the kids to hang their towels on.
Kyler worked hard this weekend cleaning up all the trash in the garage and Kierstyn helped me paint and mopped the hardwood floor upstairs.  It's still pretty dusty in the house but it was fun to get a glimpse of what the floor will look when it's actually clean. :)
They finished the trim on the front of the house and under the porch and worked on the front columns this week too.  The top part will be painted white and the bottom will have stacked stone around it.
They came to measure for granite last Thursday and it should be installed sometime this coming week.  We have carpet scheduled to be installed on Wednesday but I'm thinking we might have to push it back a few days.  Can't wait to see what all gets done this week!

  1. Once again I am right there with you on your choices! I love all of the hardware and that bathroom wall is going to be very cool. This is my favorite part of building. It all comes together so nice. Seriously called me if you need help with moving, cleaning, anything! I would love to help and chat in the process.
