What we came back to after Spring Break

Well of course not everything that was supposed to happen, happened but at least there was some progress.

Look! Paint cans!

Our master bedroom ceiling was painted and our bedroom walls were primed (the actual color is a darker blue).  Our master bathroom and closet were painted too.

We picked up the tile for our bathrooms while we were in Boise. This is our master bathroom tile. They added that wall for our shower too.

These are actually not our doors. Our friends are getting all new doors and the painter used our basement to paint them.

 We've got closets! (Well, the kids do.)  This is Kyler's closet.

Trevin's closet looks just like Kyler's (only flipped) but we asked them to add more shelving next week since I doubt that he will ever hang that many clothes.   They also added a moulding around Trevin's room for his eventual board and batten wall treatment.

 They poured the cement pad in the garage! (but still didn't get those missing vertical strip pieces up...)

 They finished the trim on the back of the house and I love, love, love the white against the dark blue.

 The trim didn't get done on the front but at least the gable up top got painted.

We have been busy, busy looking at granite, lighting, trying to make a decision on carpet, and even took a trip to IKEA yesterday. :)  This has been a crazy time with so many things to figure out, so overwhelming! I'm ready for someone else to make some decisions for us.  Anyone interested? :)

A Wordy Update

A bit frustrated with our builder this week.  Last week he said he needed our interior paint colors by Tues. and we were expecting to start on Wed-Thurs.  We wanted to do some of the painting and at least get started on Trevin's room since we're doing a special board and batten treatment on the walls but our builder wasn't even in town so we didn't have the paint to get started.

We are having a very hard time deciding on carpet.  Ugh.  Kelly went back to the place in Salt Lake on Wednesday but still couldn't make a decision.  So on Friday we went to a carpet place in Burley and then back to our favorite (but expensive) local home building supply store.  We moved on to tile for the bathrooms and picked out what we wanted so that was fun. We are going to pick it up next Friday in Boise.

Kelly took Kyler and the Hitt boys over to the house this morning and they took a couple of loads of trash that was laying around outside the house over to the dump.  It looks a lot better out there.  And our friend Dallan was cleaning out his horse pen and dumped his manure in our backyard so we've got some "fertilizer" whenever we get around to putting in our yard.

We are headed out of town for Spring Break this week and I hope that we will see a lot of progress when we return.  They are supposed to put up doors and trim, paint inside, pour the concrete in the  garage/driveway, and hopefully finish the well. Sure hope I'm not disappointed.

Mudding complete

They are finally finished mudding/texturizing our walls.  Hopefully they will get painted next week.

Digging a well

They're (finally) here to dig our well.  Fingers crossed they find water at a decent depth.

More paint

Well this is how far the painter got before quitting for the weekend. I'm glad I like the color. :) I especially love it with the white trim.

Overwhelmed

We went to Salt Lake yesterday with Scott and Mandi to look at carpet.  Can I just say how overwhelmed I am?!  I just need someone to come make all these decisions for me! :0

I'm 99% sure this is the hardwood we've decided on.

 And here are just a few of the samples I am so confused about...

Today we met with a local granite guy and found some I like for the kitchen.  Then we headed to Burley to the local home building store to look at more carpet. We also found this gray slate subway tile for the kitchen and fell in love.

Let the mudding begin!

This should be another big week on the home front.  The mudding has begun, they are supposed to paint the exterior and dig our well. Fingers crossed it all gets done!

Trevin and I stopped by the house this afternoon to check on the sheet rocking progress.  They're almost done!....and it's starting to really look like a house inside!!!

Late yesterday afternoon we noticed a big truck in front of the house.  It took them several hours to unload lots and lots of sheetrock.
